Step-By-Step Tutorial On How To Sell On Amazon FBA
What are the steps to private labelling a product and start selling on Amazon?
I’m now going to explain to you all of the main steps involved and how private labelling a product on Amazon works.
1. Find A Profitable Niche Or Product To Sell On Amazon
The first step is to find a profitable niche or product that you can start selling on Amazon.
If you’re a beginner, I recommend private labelling a product to begin your Amazon business with.
When you private label a product, you’re basically just finding a product that is already profitable and selling on Amazon, but putting your own label or packaging on it.
In a later step, you’re going to learn how to find suppliers and manufacturers that you can buy products from at wholesale costs, but this is the easiest way for anyone to get started.
This means that you don’t need to invent something new. You don’t need to be super creative or anything like that.
You’re just seeing what is already selling and what people are already buying on Amazon. This eliminates the risk of trying to get into a completely unknown market and attempting to sell a product that you aren’t sure will be profitable.
It also makes it very fast and easy to get started selling. To be successful private labelling a product and selling it on Amazon, you still need to differentiate somehow from the competitors and also out-rank your product.
Okay, so how do you find a profitable niche or product to sell on Amazon?
My favourite way is to look at what is already selling by visiting the Amazon Bestsellers List.
On this bestsellers list page, you’ll be able to see all of the categories on Amazon and the top 100 products that are selling in each category.
This is amazing information, as it’ll basically tell you what is selling on Amazon and what is most profitable.
I’ll be explaining more of the steps to finding a profitable product in an upcoming free video training, but this is the first step on how to sell on Amazon FBA. Click here to get notified of free video trainings!
You’ll want to dig around and use the bestseller list to get ideas of what you can private label a product on. You’ll also want to analyze the competition and make sure there’s several products that are selling in that market.
2. Find A Supplier Or Manufacturer To Private Label Your Product
Once you’ve decided on potential product opportunities, the next step on how to sell on Amazon FBA is to find a supplier or manufacturer that can private label your product.
There’s two ways that I use to accomplish this:
You want to get as many options for potential suppliers as possible for your different products.
You’ll want to see who’s already making the product, what the quality of the product is and the price of it. Being able to communicate with suppliers and get all of the necessary data is going to be covered in an upcoming video training, however the more information you can get the better.
You’ll also want to get the different suppliers to send you a sample of the product, so you can make sure that the quality is good and that you’re comfortable to sell it on Amazon.
For certain products, you might try to find a supplier in the United States. However, many products can be made much more inexpensively in countries like China. That’s where Alibaba is so useful, for finding suppliers overseas that are inexpensive and can still produce high quality products.
3. Create Your Product Labeling, Packaging And Graphics
The next step on how to sell on Amazon FBA is to create your product labeling, packaging and all product graphics. You’ll only want to do this once you’ve found the supplier you want to work with.
This means that you’ll also want to think about creating a logo and brand name. You always want to think beyond just a product and look at the potential of building a brand on Amazon that sells multiple products to people.
4. Set Up Product Listing & Ship Your Inventory To Amazon Fulfillment Centres
Once you’ve paid the suppliers, everything is packaged, labelled and ready to go – the next step on how to sell on Amazon FBA is to ship everything to Amazon.
I always recommend starting to sell on Amazon in the USA first, as this is where the biggest market is.
5. Start Selling On Amazon!
Once your listing is up and the inventory has been received, your product is now for sale on Amazon!
It’s now time to market and promote your product, so that you can successfully rank it on the Amazon search engines and start getting sales.
If you’ve done everything correctly (especially found a profitable niche or product), then your product will start selling in no time and will have the potential to make you a lot of money.
I’ll be covering more details of this process in some future video trainings, walking you through each step, as well as going more into the marketing and promoting of Amazon products in the future. Click here to get access to all free Amazon training videos.
